OUR MISSION

Our Mission

The mission of SEEDS-Haiti, Inc. is to support and assist the people of Haiti in the areas of health and education; and to coordinate and/or sponsor charitable cultural activities in order to raise funds to support the organization's mission.






Founded in 1986, SEEDS-Haiti, Inc. is a non-profit charitable organization whose mission is to provide  assistance to the Haitian people in their rebuilding efforts.


For more than 27 years, SEEDS- Haiti, Inc. has devoted its energy to passionately advocating for the youth. Find out how you can contribute to the future of someone in need through donations of money and time.






SEEDS-Haiti, Inc. projects are supported by community-oriented fundraising programs, member dues, and donations.   Since its inception in 1986, SEEDS-Haiti, Inc, has been actively engaged in supporting charitable projects in Haiti. Below are some of the humanitarian organizations based in Haiti that have received assistance from SEEDS-Haiti, Inc.  

  • Caritas, a charitable organization with service centers scattered throughout Haiti. Caritas provides needed educational, nutritional, and other social services to the population.  
  • Soeurs Salesiennes (The Salesian Sisters) Situated in Port-au-Prince, provides nutritional and survival know-how (sewing and cooking skills) to needy Haitian girls.  
  • Timkatec - "Ti Moune Kap Teke Chans" (Kids Looking for a Second Chance) is a youth center located in Petionville that provides shelter and food to street children located in the area. At the center, the children learn basic functional skills such as carpentry, woodworking, and shoe making that would help them survive once they leave the center.
  • Adopted the Institution Mixed Emmanuel Bon Samaritain de Digue Proby Primary school located in Arcahaie, a small town situated in the north of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

POTOMAC - BETHESDA ROTARY CLUB 

 

“Good Samaritan School” in Arcachie Haiti

This is a Joint project between the Jane Gordon Haiti Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund of the Potomac-Bethesda Rotary Club and SEEDS-HAITI, Inc.  The school's actual name is The Institution Mixte Emmanuel Bon Samaritan de Digue Proby Primary school and is in Arcahaie, a small town situated north of Haiti's capital, Port-au-Prince.  The school was devastated twice (and now is in a rebuilding process): first by storm/flood (2008); second by the 2010 earthquake.  Current Attendance is 52 (Pre-School-4th Grade) housed in three classrooms.  SEEDS-HAITI, Inc. supplies 4 teacher salaries and other immediate necessities (about $350/month).  The Jane Gordon Haiti Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund of the Potomac-Bethesda Rotary Club has contributed over a third of the essential construction costs (building; doors; bathroom).
